38.de und Problem mit Thunderbird 3 bei Verschlüsseltem SMTP

IMAP/POP3 access

Your email account is enabled with IMAP/POP3 access. Using your favorite mail-client such as Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple Mail you can access your account with ease.

* Supporting POP3, IMAP or secure connections via SSL

Note, you must authenticate to your POP3/IMAP server using your full email address, not just the username.
Outgoing SMTP

To send outgoing messages via 38.de configure your mail-client to use SMTP authentication.

* Supporting SMTP or secure connections via SSL/TLS

Note, you must authenticate to your POP3/IMAP server using your full email address.
Mobile Access

Use your iPhone, Windows Mobile, or 3rd party mobile phone to access your email. IMAP and POP3 is supported, and you can reference the details above to configure your phone.
Calendar Access

The 38.de supports the CalDAV protocol, enabling you to access your Calendar on multiple devices or applications. The Calendaring system uses open-standards, enabling access to your Calendar and ability to share with others.

Clients support for CalDAV includes iPhones or 3rd party client such as Mozilla Sunbird, Apple iCal, and more.

Ich benutze Thunderbird 3 und habe versucht SMTP mit Verschlüsselung zu nutzen, vergeblich.
Allerdings scheitert der Aufbau über SMTP mit SSL/TLS oder STARTTLS bei Verwendung von Thunderbird 3 mit dem standard stmpports.

Die Einstellungen SSL/TLS & STARTTLS scheitern, zumindest auf port 25‽
465 scheint sowieso nicht erreichbar?

Von meiner Seite aus sollte eigentlich kein Problem liegen.

Die „Support“ Adresse bleibt ohne antworten…

Wenn jemand diesen Emaildienst MIT SSL/TLS nutzen kann, bitte ich um Aufklärung 🙂
